Every year the Federal Ombudsman prepares an annual report for Parliament. This contains statistical data, an analysis of the complaints handled during the year and resulting recommendations.

If the Chamber of Representatives commissions the Federal Ombudsman to examine the operations of an administrative department, this results in an inquiry report, containing the Federal Ombudsman's findings and his recommendations to improve the operations of the department in question.
